| Burns | The description of the problem: There are three degrees of burns. The first degree burns causes redness and sensitivity only of the outer layer of the skin. Second degree burns affect the deeper layers of the skin, they may destroy the underlying tissues; blisters, acute pain and redness appear. Third degree burns have little or no pain because the nerves in the skin have been severely damaged.
Essential oils used for treatment: Lavender.
The treatment: Take a warm bath with 10 drops of essential oil and soak for 15 minutes. Put a couple of drops of essential oil on a cotton ball and touch it to the injured area. Soak a cloth in cold water and add approximately 2-5 drops of essential oil. Put and hold a cold compress on the affected area for about 15 minutes to lessen pain and swelling.
Safety Issues: Consult a physician in the case of a third degree burn. Don’t to treat the injury yourself. It there are signs of infection (odor, puss), consult a physician.
