| Ten Uses of Essential Oils at Home | When someone comes to your house, he inhales the aroma of the house and feels its atmosphere. For the creation of a homely atmosphere at the house essential oils are often used. One can add 6-8 drops of the aroma you like to water in a diffuser or to a bowl of boiling water. When you want to get a refreshing, warming aroma and atmosphere at home when it is winter outside, you should take6 drops of lemon, Sweet orange, and the spice oil you like. One may use aroma candles which contain essential oil for the purpose too.
There are different ways of the creating homely atmosphere at home: 1) One may add some drops of oil to water in a spray bottle and use the aromatic mixture as a clothes spray before ironing or for freshening linen.
2) For the freshening the air one may place 6-8 drops in 600 ml of water in a spray bottle and use it as an air spray and towards carpets and curtains. While spraying avoid any contact with velvet, silk and wood.
3) Cotton wool balls soaked with lavender placed in drawers and linen closet are used as moths repellant.
4) During the winter one may use 4 drops of oil with the humidifier or placed onto a cotton wool ball behind the heater or radiator.
5) For giving your refrigerator a fresh and pleasant aroma one can clean it with a one drop of lavender, lemon, orange, mandarin or mint oil added to the water.
6) When you clean the kitchen surfaces put 1 drop of cypress, lavender, lemon, thyme or Palma Rosa oil on a cloth or add 7 drops into water.
7) A drop or two of oil placed onto a cold light bulb in a lamp after heating up fill the room with a pleasant scent.
8) Essential oils are good for freshening the air and ridding a room of an unpleasant aroma. If you want to get rid of the aroma of stale tobacco or cooking smells use cinnamon, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, orange, tea tree, rosemary or lime; which are very good at freshening and ridding of constant smells at the house. One may also place cotton wool balls in the corners of a room, in cupboards or out-of-the-way places at the house.
9) At the hallways one may use bergamont, grapefruit, lemon, lime or lavender or geranium mixed with them. Lavender uplifts and freshens in the morning and geranium calms and may be used at afternoons and in the evenings when you want to relax and forget all the troubles.
10) Remember that tea tree oil is very helpful for burns, cuts and head lice.
